Car Park Refurbishment, Coatings and Waterproofing

Ecoflor undertakes car park floor refurbishment for owners, managing agents, facilities teams and main contractors. We bring preparation, agreed repairs, coatings and line marking together in a project-specific scope for basement, intermediate and exposed decks.

Start with the condition of the existing deck

Tell us about coating wear, previous repairs, leaking areas and the sections that must remain accessible. Photographs, drawings and any existing survey reports help define the next steps. Suspected structural defects should be referred to an appropriately qualified engineer; coating refurbishment does not replace a structural assessment.

Agree the preparation and repair scope

The proposal should identify which finishes need removing, the preparation method, local repairs and the treatment of joints and interfaces. Drainage outlets, upstands and transitions between decks need to be included in the agreed detail rather than left until the coating is applied.

Select the system for the deck

Basement, intermediate and exposed decks present different requirements. We discuss traffic, exposure, condition and the waterproofing brief before the coating system is selected. An exposed-deck waterproofing requirement should be specified as such, not assumed to be met by ordinary floor painting.

See our car park flooring and coating systems for the wider options. Where the requirement is principally to renew an existing finish, visit our car park painting service.

Plan access, phasing and reopening

Before confirming the programme, agree the work areas, pedestrian routes, vehicle access, ventilation requirements and any closures with the site team. Reopening is determined by the chosen system, conditions and the required level of use, not a universal time promise.

Finish with markings and handover information

Confirm the parking layout, walkways and demarcation before marking out. The handover should record the installed system and its cleaning, maintenance and inspection requirements. Any warranty or performance commitment must be stated in the project documents.

We work on car parks serving commercial premises and managed residential developments across the UK and Europe. The agreed package can include wall and soffit finishes as well as floor coatings and markings.

Discuss your refurbishment

Send the deck areas, postcode, photographs, existing survey information and the access constraints. Identify whether your brief covers coatings only or a wider package so that responsibilities and exclusions are clear.
