Flooring for aerospace and aviation facilities
Ecoflor installs flooring for aerospace premises, including hangars, assembly areas and maintenance spaces. We discuss the substrate, operating conditions and project specification to select a suitable resin system and installation approach.

Define the operating requirements
Aircraft movements, equipment loads and maintenance activities influence the floor specification. Provide the expected traffic and loading, cleaning routine and details of fluids or chemicals that may reach the surface.
Where resistance to Skydrol or another aviation fluid is required, the exact substance and exposure conditions should be checked against the proposed product. Electrical resistance, fire performance and temperature requirements also need product-specific evidence.
Coatings and resin flooring options
Epoxy floor coatings, screeds and other industrial resin systems can be considered according to the project. Colour zones and markings can be included in an agreed layout for working areas and routes.
For a completed installation example, view our Wattisham Airfield hangar floor painting case study. Our aircraft hangar flooring page covers further hangar-specific considerations.
Preparation and refurbishment
Existing coatings, contamination, joints, moisture and damaged areas need assessment before a finish is applied. Our floor preparation service forms part of the work, with repairs and preparation selected around the existing substrate.
Plan the installation programme
Share access restrictions, equipment movements and the time available before the area must return to use. Preparation, application and curing all affect the programme. Work beside operational areas should be coordinated around the chosen materials and site requirements.
Aerospace flooring questions
Can an existing hangar floor be recoated?
Possibly, after checking condition, adhesion, contamination and compatibility. Removal or repairs may be needed before the new finish is installed.
Is every epoxy floor resistant to aviation fluids?
No. Resistance needs to be verified for the specific product, fluid and exposure conditions. Include these requirements in the project brief.
What is needed for a quotation?
Send the location, floor area, plans, photographs, traffic and loading details, required performance and work window. A site assessment may be needed to finalise the scope.
