Corestone Flooring

Corestone flooring for commercial interiors

Ecoflor installs Corestone flooring for commercial and retail premises across the UK. This decorative micro-topping creates a concrete-style appearance over a suitable prepared base, offering an alternative to polishing an existing concrete slab.

Choose the appearance for your space

Corestone is applied by trowel to create a finish with surface movement and patination. Discuss the desired colour and degree of variation, and review a sample before agreeing the finish. A hand-applied surface will have natural variation rather than an identical pattern throughout.

The range has included Uni and Duo finishes with different levels of patination. Confirm current options, colours and the complete system specification for your project.

Check the base and installation details

A thin decorative topping relies on a suitable substrate. Existing coatings, moisture, cracks, movement and repairs need assessment before preparation and application are agreed. The complete build-up, including preparation and protective finish, should be confirmed before setting thresholds or adjoining finishes.

For stairs, ramps or other detailed areas, provide drawings and the required performance criteria. Suitability should be established for the particular location rather than assumed from the material name.

Corestone or polished concrete?

Corestone adds a decorative wearing surface. Polished concrete uses the concrete slab itself, so its original composition and condition influence the appearance. If you are comparing alternatives, explore our microtopping flooring and polished screed options.

Planning a commercial installation

  • Use: customer traffic, furniture, equipment and cleaning requirements.
  • Existing floor: substrate, coverings, visible damage and known moisture issues.
  • Design: colour, surface variation, samples and junction details.
  • Programme: access, available downtime and protection during subsequent work.

Read about our floor preparation services. Preparation, application and curing all need to be included in the programme.

Corestone flooring questions

Can it be laid over my existing floor?

The base must be assessed first. Removal, repairs or levelling may be needed to provide a suitable substrate for the selected system.

Does Corestone need maintenance?

Yes. Follow the cleaning guidance for the installed system and protective finish, remove spills promptly and attend to wear or damage. A concrete-style appearance does not mean the floor is stain-proof or maintenance-free.

What affects the cost?

Area, substrate condition, preparation, detailing, finish and access all affect the quotation. Photographs or drawings help establish the scope.
