Heavy Duty Polyurethane Screed

Are you searching for a polyurethane screed which will withstand the pressures of a heavily used industrial environment? We work with the best floor polyurethane brands to apply our hygienic, food grade, heavy duty textured and smooth matt polyurethane flooring system to incredibly demanding spaces with a diverse range of requirements and priorities.

Heavy duty textured polyurethane floor screeds – Anti Slip & Food Grade

Ideal for use in demanding industrial spaces, as well as spaces requiring food grade flooring such as food factories, breweries and beverage production facilities, our heavy duty textured polyurethane screed options are designed to go the distance and stand up to even the toughest conditions with an easy to clean finish that can be steam cleaned. A range of floor surfacing products that are virtually indestructible in the heaviest and most aggressive industrial environments including chemical processing.

  • Chemical resistant to most chemical attack – Excellent resistance to corrosive foodstuffs and aggressive cleaning solvents
  • Abrasion resistant – Food-safe; solvent-free, odourless, non-tainting and non-dusting
  • Impact resistant – 55N strength
  • Slip resistant – Slip resistant profile suitable for wet processing areas
  • Heat resistant
  • High hygiene rating – Complies with HACCP food safety management guidelines
  • Steam cleanable option (for 9 to 12 mm thick floors) – Excellent thermal shock resistance up to 130ºC

This resin screed surface is seamless, which improves trip prevention and increases hygiene, and features a white aggregate with great slip resistance. Over time, the polyurethane resin floor surface aggregate will change from a plain, solid colour, to an attractive mottled finish as it is exposed to foot and vehicle traffic.

Chemical protection

This floor system is excellent for spaces which make use of a wide range of chemicals and other substances and is abrasion and chemical resistant. Rugged and able to withstand a variety of liquids, our heavy duty polyurethane screed can stand up to virtually anything the food, beverage, dairy and pharmaceutical industries have to throw at it including:

  • Concentrated citric acid
  • Spirit vinegar
  • Lactic acid
  • Common alcohols
  • Inorganic acids
  • Fuels
  • Hydraulic oils
  • Mineral oils
  • Solvents

What substrate do I need to have a food grade polyurethane screed?

This heavy duty floor material option can be applied to both concrete and polymer modified cementitious surfaces. The best way to apply polyurethane to floors in these cases is by trowel; a technique the Ecoflor specialist installation teams have mastered and can complete swiftly, cleanly and with the utmost precision. This is a heavy duty polyurethane floor screed with resistance to thermal shock abrasion and chemical attack in aggressive industrial environments.

Smooth Matt Polyurethane Topping

When our clients ask us “what is the best polyurethane for floors?” we explain that the answer depends entirely on an array of factors including your substrate, your space and your requirements.

This particular smooth polyurethane screed is a perfect fit for demanding industrial spaces, thanks to its incredible durability and resistance to everything from fuel to abrasions.

Why choose heavy duty smooth matt polyurethane?

Exceptional and durable in manufacturing and industrial facilities, this flooring system has been designed to “go the distance” offering unbeatable protection and practicality over the long term. This option is resistant to:

  • Impacts
  • Chemicals
  • Abrasion
  • Heavy foot traffic
  • Slips and trips
  • Heat

The smooth, seamless surface is also ideal for spaces with high hygiene requirements, while its smooth, matt surface creates a professional finish which can withstand cleaning temperatures up to 60°C. This polyurethane option is also non-tainting, making it a great choice for live environments – it’s even got better slip-resistance than epoxy coatings.

Chemical protection

Resistance to chemicals and other common substances in the pharmaceutical, food and dairy industries is a big benefit of this smooth, heavy duty polyurethane. This screed can resist:

  • Fuels
  • Hydraulic oils
  • Mineral oils
  • Inorganic acids
  • Solvents
  • Concentrated citric acid
  • Spirit vinegar
  • Lactic acid
  • Common alcohols

Where can I install smooth matt finish (MF) polyurethane screed?

This is a great polyurethane topping for concrete floors and polymer modified cementitious screeds that require extreme resistance but can be trafficked smoothly, so any dry industrial application where a heavy duty finish is required, but the slip resistance of the anti-slip textured screed isn’t so important.
