Flooring for demanding temperature conditions
Ecoflor installs resin floor systems for commercial and industrial areas where hot processes, cold storage or cleaning temperatures influence the specification. The proposed floor needs to suit the actual exposure and the construction beneath it.
Discuss your temperature-resistant flooring requirements with details of the process, cleaning regime and existing floor.
Describe the temperature exposure
Provide the normal operating range, peak temperatures, duration and frequency of exposure. Identify hot spills, washdown, steam cleaning, cold areas and transitions between different zones.
Rapid temperature changes may create different demands from a steady operating temperature. Include both in the brief so the proposed system can be assessed against the relevant product information.
Polyurethane screed options
Polyurethane screeds can be considered for suitable demanding environments. Required thickness, materials, detailing and permitted exposure depend on the chosen system.
Do not assume that every polyurethane finish is steam-cleanable or suitable for the same temperature range. Confirm current manufacturer data for the exact construction before specification.
Consider the complete floor
Substrate condition, moisture, movement joints, drainage interfaces and edges need review alongside the wearing surface. Existing cracking or movement may require investigation and repairs before installation.
Tell us about traffic, chemicals and cleaning as well as temperature. For food processing environments, explore our food and drink flooring guidance.
Installation and return to service
Agree the site conditions, preparation, curing and commissioning requirements before reopening. Returning a new floor to hot cleaning or process exposure may require a different waiting period from pedestrian access.
