Flooring for Nuclear Applications

Resin flooring enquiries for nuclear facilities

Ecoflor supplies and installs resin flooring. For work at nuclear premises, we review enquiries against the facility operator’s specification, the proposed area of use and the requirements for contractor access and installation.

Discuss a nuclear facility flooring project with our team. Provide the approved scope and flooring specification so suitability and the work programme can be assessed.

Start with the project specification

Define the intended use of each area, substrate condition, traffic and equipment loads, cleaning regime and required performance. Where specialist testing or approval is required, identify the acceptance criteria and evidence needed for the proposed system.

Any requirements concerning decontamination, chemical exposure or other specialist performance need documented assessment for the particular product and installed detail. Suitability should not be assumed from the general description of a resin floor.

System selection and detailing

Our industrial resin flooring options provide a starting point for discussion. The selected finish, joints, edges, interfaces and penetrations must be considered within the agreed design. A surface finish alone does not establish compliance with the facility’s requirements.

Preparation and site access

Share the existing floor condition and any restrictions affecting assessment or surface preparation. The installation scope should identify repairs, removal of existing finishes, permitted work areas and the arrangements for coordinating with the operator.

Access, induction, supervision and documentation requirements should be established before a programme is agreed. Include the available work window and required inspection or handover stages in the enquiry.

Questions before requesting a quotation

Is a particular resin system automatically suitable?

No. The project specification and supporting product evidence must determine suitability for the proposed area. Share any named system, test requirements or approval process with the enquiry.

Can an existing floor be refurbished?

Feasibility depends on its condition, the permitted scope and the operator’s requirements. Provide the available survey information and proposed work area for review.

What information is needed?

Send the location, floor area, drawings, approved specification, access requirements and intended programme. The team can then discuss the scope and information needed for a quotation.
