Select a floor around your operation
Warehouses and distribution facilities
Specify the floor around forklift routes, pallet handling, pedestrian walkways and loading areas. The base condition and equipment requirements matter as much as the finish. Coatings, repairs and demarcation can form part of a refurbishment programme.
Factories and manufacturing
Identify machinery loads, impact, spills and cleaning exposure. Where equipment requires particular floor tolerances or electrical properties, share those criteria at the outset so the complete system can be assessed.
Food production and wet processing
Hot washdowns, process temperatures, fats and cleaning chemicals need a specific assessment. Explore polyurethane screed flooring and our hygienic flooring guidance for these environments.
Compare industrial flooring options
- Epoxy coatings and screeds: options for refurbishing prepared industrial floors, with build-up, texture and resistance selected for the project. Read about epoxy flooring.
- Polyurethane screeds: consider these for demanding processing areas where the specified system must address loading, cleaning or temperature exposure.
- Decorative quartz: epoxy quartz flooring combines coloured aggregate with a resin system where appearance also matters.
- Polished concrete: an alternative approach for suitable concrete slabs. Review our commercial polished concrete services.
The resin type alone does not establish suitability. Confirm required slip resistance, chemical compatibility, loading, finish and cleaning against the proposed system’s technical information.
Preparation, repairs and installation
We assess the substrate before agreeing the work. Existing coatings, contamination, moisture, cracking and damaged areas affect the preparation method and specification. Our floor preparation services and floor repairs and levelling support the installation programme.
Preparation may include vacuum-controlled diamond grinding, shot blasting or planing as appropriate. Access, dust control, adjacent operations and waste handling need planning alongside the flooring work. Necessary movement joints and junctions must be accommodated.
Plan downtime and return to service
Tell us when the area can be released and when production must restart. Phased or out-of-hours work can be discussed where site conditions allow. Preparation, repairs, application and curing all need time; pedestrian access, full loading and cleaning may have different return-to-service dates.
We will discuss the programme for the selected system rather than apply a single installation time to every warehouse or factory.
Industrial flooring questions
How much does industrial resin flooring cost?
Cost depends on area, base condition, preparation, repairs, system build-up, detailing and access. Share photographs or drawings and operating requirements so we can establish a meaningful scope for quotation.
Can an existing industrial floor be refurbished?
Often the starting point is an assessment of the existing floor. The condition of the base and any coatings determines whether repair, removal, levelling or a new finish is appropriate.
Can you include walkways and colour zones?
Discuss demarcation, line marking and colour requirements with the floor specification. Available colours and matching options depend on the selected system. See our floor painting services.
