Epoxy Modified Waterproofing

Epoxy modified waterproofing beneath raised access floors

Ecoflor installs specified epoxy modified waterproofing for commercial projects, including concrete surfaces beneath raised access floors in data centres. We review the substrate, design details and installation sequence to establish the proposed scope.

Define the water containment requirements

Provide the intended function of the system and the project’s performance and acceptance requirements. The design should identify the treated area, edges, upstands, joints, penetrations and interfaces with other construction. Suitability depends on the complete specified detail, rather than a general epoxy coating description.

If resistance to water vapour, particular chemicals or other exposure is required, request supporting evidence for the selected product. A waterproofing finish should not be assumed to meet every moisture or chemical requirement.

Coordinate with the raised floor installation

Share the pedestal layout, service routes and installation sequence. Access for preparation, application and inspection needs to be agreed alongside the raised floor and building services programme. Our data centre flooring page covers related concrete treatments and exposed resin finishes.

Substrate assessment and preparation

Existing finishes, contamination, moisture conditions, cracks and damaged areas need assessment before work begins. Our surface preparation service includes discussion of the method required for the specified system. Repairs and detailing form part of the agreed scope where needed.

Application, inspection and handover

The installation method, thickness, application conditions and curing requirements must follow the selected system specification. Include any required inspection stages and acceptance tests in the project brief so responsibilities and access can be agreed before work starts.

Protect the completed work during subsequent trades and establish the required inspection and maintenance arrangements at handover. Any warranty terms should be confirmed for the specific project.

Waterproofing project questions

Is a standard epoxy floor coating sufficient?

Do not assume so. The proposed product and complete detail need to meet the intended waterproofing function and acceptance requirements.

Can you work beneath an existing raised floor?

Feasibility depends on access, existing services, floor condition and operational restrictions. Share the layout and proposed work area for assessment.

Is dust proofing the same service?

No. Concrete dust proofing has a different purpose. Identify whether your project requires dust treatment, waterproofing or a specified combination.

What affects the quotation?

Area, preparation, repairs, interfaces, system choice, access and inspection requirements influence the price. Drawings and the specification help define the work.
