Commercial concrete flooring in Kent
Ecoflor provides concrete floor grinding and polishing for commercial and industrial premises across Kent. We work with existing concrete slabs in retail units, warehouses and other business premises, assessing the surface before recommending a polished finish or an alternative floor system.
Request a Kent concrete flooring quotation with your site postcode, floor area and photographs. Our service is for commercial and industrial projects only.
Can your existing concrete floor be polished?
The starting condition of the slab determines the preparation needed and the finish achievable. Existing coatings, adhesive, repairs, cracks and joints should be assessed before a specification is agreed. Grinding can expose aggregate, but the appearance will vary with the concrete; polishing does not guarantee a uniform colour or hide previous repairs.
Discuss the required aggregate exposure, sheen, traffic and cleaning regime with us. Where appearance is critical, agree a representative trial area before the main works. Read more about our commercial polished concrete flooring service.
Concrete grinding and preparation
A refurbishment may require removal of old floor finishes or adhesive before polishing can begin. The quotation should identify removal work, repairs, treatment of joints and any levelling requirements, as well as the final finish. Access for preparation equipment and coordination with other trades also affect the programme.
Polished concrete or a new surface finish?
Polishing works on the concrete itself. A polished screed or overlay is a separate build-up that may be considered when the existing slab cannot deliver the intended finish. Its suitability, thickness and preparation need to be specified for the project.
If your brief calls for a coloured coating or resin finish instead, see our Kent epoxy and resin flooring service. We can discuss the options against the intended use of the space.
Planning work in an occupied commercial building
Tell us which areas can be cleared, the available working hours and when the floor must return to use. Preparation, polishing and any surface treatment need an agreed sequence. Confirm protection, cleaning and handover requirements before arranging stock, equipment or other trades to return.
