Commercial epoxy flooring for demanding premises
Choosing commercial epoxy flooring starts with the work the floor must support. For warehouses, workshops and other business premises, define traffic, exposure, cleaning and substrate condition before selecting a coating or resin system.
Ecoflor installs commercial and industrial flooring only. Explore our epoxy flooring services or request a project quotation with your location, floor area, photographs and preferred installation dates.

Turn operating conditions into a flooring brief
Describe the activities in each part of the building. Forklift routes, loading areas, workstations and pedestrian spaces may need different detailing or finishes. Provide equipment loads, wheel types, likely impacts and any turning or braking areas for assessment.
For chemical exposure, supply the substances, concentrations, temperatures and expected contact periods. Where moisture, hot cleaning or external weather are relevant, ask for evidence that the complete system is suitable. Do not assume every epoxy floor provides waterproofing or resistance to every chemical.
Compare the proposed system build-up
Ask the contractor to identify preparation, primer, resin layers, thickness and final finish. A coating proposal and a thicker screed should be compared against the intended duty and substrate, rather than by price per square metre alone.
Specialist requirements such as static control need their own specification and verification. Include the facility’s requirements in the enquiry instead of treating these features as standard properties of an epoxy floor.

Plan preparation and repairs before application
Explain the current surface condition, existing coatings, cracks, joints and contamination. A site assessment can help clarify the preparation and repair scope. Agree what the quotation includes and what remains provisional until the substrate is inspected.
Read about Ecoflor’s floor preparation methods. Include edges, transitions, drainage and joint details where applicable. A smooth-looking finish does not remove the need to address the underlying construction.

Choose texture and appearance together
Discuss colour, sheen and demarcation alongside expected contamination and the cleaning regime. A textured finish must be considered in the context of use and maintenance. Request samples or agreed finish references where appearance is a key part of the brief.
For customer-facing spaces, identify the decorative requirements early. For operational areas, supply any line-marking layout or zoning plan so it can be included in the proposed work.

Allow for the whole installation programme
Discuss access, working hours, moving stock or equipment, preparation, application and curing. Where operations must continue, agree whether phasing and physical separation are practical. Confirm reopening requirements separately for pedestrians, vehicles, equipment and cleaning.
Our installation guide explains the planning questions to raise. A short product cure time should not be treated as the duration of the complete project.

Assess costs and maintenance realistically
Compare installation scope, repair allowances, maintenance and future refurbishment requirements. Ask for the basis of any service-life or cost-saving estimate. Use assumptions and figures relevant to your facility when comparing proposals.
At handover, request cleaning instructions for the selected finish and identify the appropriate contact for damage or wear. Match cleaning frequency, chemicals and equipment to the operating conditions and product guidance rather than using a universal weekly routine.

Send your commercial epoxy flooring enquiry
For a useful initial discussion, provide the postcode, approximate area, floor condition, photographs, traffic, exposure and shutdown constraints. Include any written specification and layout plans available.
