Ecoflor were invited to recommend flooring for the refurbishment of a unit within Urenco’s huge Capenhurst uranium enrichment facility. With many specialised technical requirements to meet, we completed a number of detailed site trials to ensure the suitability and performance of our recommended solution.
Our 3mm seamless epoxy self smoothing floor topping was determined to be the the best option for the client. This surface was selected for its high gloss surface (ideal for maintaining high standards of cleanliness) as well as its anti slip features and impressive durability.
To prepare for the application our team prepared the unit’s existing floors using our HTC Superprep diamond grinding fleet. The fleet was equipped with HEPA 13 filters which ensure a dust free environment during the grinding process.
Throughout the installation, we adhered to Urenco’s stringent health and safety procedures, completing the initial 6,000 square meters of flooring safely, quickly, on time and on budget. Urenco have since commissioned us to upgrade more flooring at their site and to date we have installed over 14,000 square metres on site.
