A striking urban vibe was needed at the new Relay Building in Aldgate, London, and polished concrete was the initial choice. With only a limited thickness available traditional concrete could not be utilised to achieve the desired look.
Ecoflor proposed its cement based, fully bonded industrial effect screed that could be installed at a thickness of as little as 10mm.
Following diamond grinding surface preparation, the industrial effect screed was poured on to a fully blinded epoxy resin primer to a thickness of 15mm and allowed to cure. We then carried out a full diamond polishing process to the newly installed screed and complimented the finish with a stain protective seal.
When the fit-out was compete, it is easy to see that the polished screed creates the ultimate urban vibe.
