Originally specified as a resin floor finish, GSK wanted to create a floor in their new materials management centre that had a long life cycle and ease of cleaning and maintenance. HTC Superfloor was chosen as the ideal finish for the new pharmaceutical warehouse facility.
Using the latest in concrete technology, Morgan Sindall installed a Lafarge Extensia specialist floor slab laid to FM2 and FM1 Special tolerances in the areas. Once the concrete had cured sufficiently, Ecoflor took possession of the areas and created its HTC Superfloor Platinum finish through a seven stage grinding process including densifying using HTC Cure.
Initial floor areas in the high bay warehouse were handed back in phases to allow the racking contractor to commence works earlier than anticipated. HTC Superfloor can be created in live working environments as the grinding process is carried dry using HEPA vacuum controlled HTC machines, meaning that dust is not an issue for neighbouring work processes or operatives.
