When Actavis needed to refurbish their busy logisitics warehouse but couldn’t decant the finish products they turned to Ecoflor to propose an industrial floring solution that could be completed with minimal disruption.
The existing spalled floor joints were diamond saw cut back and infilled with high strength resin mortar over night shifts prior to the Christmas holiday. The floor was then preparaed thoroughly using our HTC Superprep diamond floor grinding and vacuum cleaned during the Christmas shutdown. All infilled joints were grinded flush to ensure fork lift trucks would pass over the new joint without vibration.
A two coat application of high build epoxy coating was installed throughout the 4,000m2 warehouse to create a light environment. A high performance polyurethane seal coat and safety yellow demarcation provided the finishing touches to the new floor. The new expansion joints were diamond saw cut back through the finished floor and sealed with high performance joint sealant suitable for warehouse environments.
The finished floor demonstrates Ecoflor’s competence as the UK’s leading floor painting contractor with £10 million of finished pharamceutical goods remaining on racking in the warehouse during the works, and a testament to the dust free surface preparation Ecoflor uses on each of its projects.
